A growing number of companies on Forbes’ list of Canada’s Best Employers call Mississauga home. Forbes recently released its 2018 rankings of Canada’s Best Employers, and 19 of the top 300 employers are headquartered in Mississauga. This was a substantial increase from last year’s list which included 12 Mississauga-based companies.
Perhaps even more impressive, is that two Mississauga companies have made it into the top 20 list for 2018. Kruger Products, a manufacturer of paper goods such as towels and toilet paper and employs 2,166 people, was ranked the second best employer across all of Canada. Microsoft, also with headquarters in Mississauga and who employs 2,000 people, was ranked the 18th best employer.
Forbes’ Best Employer rankings are based on a survey of 8,000 employees within Canada. The surveys are conducted online in collaboration with the research firm Statistica and are restricted to Canadians working for large firms and institutions (those with 500 or more employees). Employees are asked whether they would recommend their employers on a scale of 0 to 10, with 10 being the most positive. For example, employees gave second place Kruger Products a score of 9.3.
