Christi Scarrow, IP Assistant Director, established a charity event to raise funds to help kids obtain financial assistance to play hockey. Last year we raised over $10,000 and the program helped 55 kids. This year we play on March 5th and have an online tool for collections. You have the option to direct funds to both the Mississauga Hockey League Playmore program (if you require a tax receipt) and directly to the Meadowvale Financial Assistance program. We'd love your support. Please visit this link and make a note in the comments where you would like to direct the funds. Thanks for your help!
On Saturday, Feb 6th, 5 male seniors attended an Atom Red ME 51 game at the Hershey Centre's Community Rinks. The seniors were very excited. A bus arrived with 7 happy passengers, including 1 in a wheelchair, 2 with jazzy walkers, 2 walking on their own with assistance and 2 staff. One man said he had never seen live hockey, he'd only watched it on tv.
He was glad to have the chance to go to a live game. Stephen, another senior, said that as a kid he used to play hockey for the Dixie Beehives, and seeing minor hockey brought back a lot of memories. It was an exciting game ending in a 3-3 tie. All of the seniors loved it and want to see more games. ME51 will visit the senior's home soon, and McDonald's has offered free coffee & treats!

A Mural In Meadowvale
Meadowvale Secondary School students are creating a mural for Meadowvale Hockey. Shanna Babwah, Tiffany Mackel and Nikita Mistry are some of the talented students supervised by art teacher Jenna Edwards. The slogan is Meadowvale: For the Love of Hockey! We look forward to hoisting the mural in Rink 1 for the next hockey season.
