The amount of biased slant in a prominent, local newspaper here in Mississauga  does not surprise us anymore. Especially when it comes to one of our own citizens running for mayor.  With all due respect I must respond to the comments made by reporter Louie Rosella in Thursday March the 15th's edition found on page fifteen.

While it is true Kevin J Johnston has been the prominent figure in the debate centered on mulsim prayers in Peel schools, declaring he has published material targeting them is fakenews!

This spring, take a road trip to Point Pelee, one of the coolest outdoor spaces in Ontario. It may be Canada's second smallest national park, but it's also the most ecologically diverse, making it a perfect destination for those looking to get in touch with nature.

Point Pelee offers a variety of interesting attractions to help you celebrate the warm spring weather. Of them, the most striking one is a kilometre-long, marsh boardwalk that floats over a large marsh ecosystem in the park.

I moved to Colorado a little over five years ago. Although I was just a skier at the time, it was my goal to become a snowboarder. Months before the season started, I spent hundreds of dollars on all the gear I would need: Board, bindings, boots, jacket, pants, and a couple layers of fleece sweatshirts to keep me warm on those cold blizzard days. After all these expenses, I found myself short on money and decided to buy a cheap pair of thermal underwear from a local Wal-Mart.

Is It Really 50 / 50?

Snowboarders and skiers are increasing in number every year. As the numbers increase so do the number of injuries. More awareness is being placed on snowboard safety and ski safety.During the course of a year about 11 million skiers and 4 million snowboarders in the U.S. alone are on the slopes at least once.

So you want to start racing dirt bikes?

Who can blame you; dirt bike racing is an increasingly popular choice for many thrill seekers. It's true that in the wrong hands racing dirt bikes can be incredibly dangerous but with a little care and attention and some experience there is no reason why you can't have the adrenalin fuelled excitement while considerably minimising the risks many people associate with the sport.

Silver Swords Armouries

Today I took my first axe throwing lesson in Oakville. I was looking for things to do around Mississauga and the Oakville area when I came across Silver Swords Armouries. They have a great business listing right here on the Mississauga Gazette and I thought it was strange that I work here, but had not come across Silver Swords Armouries until today. Well it's not strange I'm a busy guy, those surfboards are not going to ride themselves.

Whitewater kayaking has many excellent destinations around the world for both new and experienced kayakers. The eastern United States has some of the best whitewater conditions you can find.

Tipping Etiquette for Your Scuba Crew

Don't ask. The answer is a resounding "Yes"!  You should tip. When you go on a chartered and chaperoned dive through a commercial diving shop, it is customary to tip both the Captain and the DiveMaster. Gratuities are voluntary, incumbent on your generosity. Even so, it is appropriate to offer a tip for your scuba crew.

Whitewater rafting is a perfect way to combine a love for the outdoors and the rushing thrill of taking on nature's elements. There is nothing quite like driving through a rushing whorl of water, having it spray up in your face, bouncing up and down in your seat feeling as though you are only moments away from disaster. Best of all, whitewater rafting is one of the safest adventure sports there is, with national safety standards followed by every major outfitter in North America.
