If you have vacationed or grown up on LBI, you may choose to marry here on the island. LBI is a great destination wedding location. At "The Wed and Bed and Milestone Event Planning" we try to make your wedding party as stress free as possible.
We offer year round catering and milestone event planning for your group for an additional charge. We also have access to other homes on the block if you have multiple families or groups trying to stay together while in town for the wedding.
Here at the Wed and Bed we want to make your LBI Destination Wedding your day to shine. So many love LBI due to growing up here, meeting their spouse, or they just stumbled upon the beautiful white sand of LBI and fell in love with it. Either way LBI is a special place that I love to share with others.
Depending on your budget and wants LBI has some nice options. If you book our home and would like to hire me as your planner I charge $50 an hour and require a $500 retainer to start. If you just want to hire me without the house it is $60 per hour with a $600 retainer. Depending on if you needed travel arrangements for your guests and other accommodations’ I would be able to take care of this as well.
When I get to 2 hours left in your retainer I will notify you and let you know about the next payment needed based on estimated time it will take to do what we have left to accomplish. I will be putting you in contact with vendors for your approval and once the day is planned it is up to you if you want me to be present for the wedding day, which is my hourly rate. Some brides like that safety net, others don’t require it.

The Wed and Bed sleeps 13 - 18 max. We can have a lovely catered dinner party for 30 guests after your beach wedding. Let us know your dreams and we will try to exceed them.
With a reception head count over 30 there are a few options to consider: Wedding Banquet Hall- big bucks, Yacht Clubs- pricy, Fire Hall- reasonable and great for an extended reception 6 hours + if you so wish, Restaurant-usually the most inexpensive route.
An example of a restaurant reception would be like the one I planned at The Bistro above Bay Village overlooking the bay which was lovely. The evening started with hor d’oevres, a song set list they played with an iPod set up, they had time to visit with guests and watch the beautiful sunset. The meal was served in courses they had a beautiful cake brought in from another bakery and then a short time window for some photos. The restaurant was booked for a 4 hour service. Many LBI restaurants will do receptions, but not many have a head count above 100, so booking ahead is key to get the larger venues.
With my connections I am able to plan everything from a Bachelorette Weekend on through to the Honeymoon. If you would like some in house massages while in town to relax the cold feet or distress the in-laws that can be arranged as well with Island Wellness. The bridesmaids love this option when planning a bachelorette weekend, but it can be during your stay as well. J Consider having your vows on the water, I have a captain that will take 6 people on his boat to take out to marry with their guests. I also can book several kinds of water activities; surfing lessons and rentals, SUPs lessons and rentals, kayak rentals, bike rentals, kite boarding, wind surfing, parasailing, jet skis, fishing charter, and boating for pleasure/tours. If there is something else you want me to look into that I will do my best to find it and book it for you. We do allow a dog under 25lbs. with addition fees if needed please let me know. If the pets have to come but it is too hectic at the house I have a wonderful loving local dog sitter that can take the pets for the day or so if need be, please inquire.
I have expanded my business to also include travel, Cruises, All-Inclusives Resorts, Flights, Hotel/Motel Bookings, Destination Weddings elsewhere, Travel Insurance, Excursions, Transfers and more. If you need any of these things in addition to your LBI wedding event it can be arranged.

I married my husband Tom, the boy next door that grew up in the summer with me on LBI. We married late in life and raised my 4 daughters with me. The wedding at our bench on our beach way wonderful and now I get to share that experience now that I am a Wedding & Milestone Event Planner. I am a member of the Jersey Shore Wedding Association as well as the Southern Ocean Chamber of Commerce. I have planned some great events on LBI and love to share all it has with others.
Now we know weddings halls are the traditional way to go with strict 4-5 hour timeline. You hire a band or DJ, and have a beautiful and memorable day.
We went the fire hall route, we had a 24 hour rental timeline. We set up the night before the tables and chairs, table clothes, centerpieces, and wall décor. We hired a DJ and a band. Our caterer and I handpicked our menu and timeline to be served, we bought the liquor, keg and cake.
We were married at 1pm on our beach we grew up. We arrived at the fire hall by 2pm. We had cocktails, danced to the DJ, mingled, and took pictures. After about an hour we had some hor d’oevres, enjoyed more time to visit with out of town guests and danced. Around 5 we served the main course, had toasts, and listened to dining music while the band set up. We had a beautiful non rushed timeline with everyone there. After we ate we said goodbye to the DJ we had the band play some classic rock like the Beatles, served the cake, and took some more pictures of us with our guests. We danced for a while and visited until about 7.
The older folk started to say their goodbyes between 6 and 7. The band picked up the pace and we let our hair down to dance into the night. The band played until 10 and then we called the Nardi's bus to pick us up and finish the night a traditional LBI wayJ
Our guests still talk about the 8 hour reception, the DJ and Band, dancing and having so much time needed to catch up and get to know everyone.
I always find the wedding reception to be so rushed for the bride and groom that they don’t have enough time visit. I planned our day to have ample time to enjoy our guests, and the day at a leisurely pace, the guests and our photographer took tons of still pictures and action shots of dancing and shenanigans before the nuptials, during the reception and into the night.
We had the next morning to clear out our belongings in the fire hall and the option to clean up or let them keep out cleaning deposit of $100 (at that time). They cleaned J
