Emergency Preparedness Week is May 1-7, 2016

This Canada-wide initiative raises awareness of individual and family preparedness for emergencies. In support of Emergency Preparedness Week, the City is implementing a social media campaign with the hashtag, #PrepareYourSelfie. Residents are encouraged to share a selfie and how they would prepare for an emergency.

72 hours guide
The Government of Canada encourages Canadians to be prepared to cope on their own for at least the first 72 hours of an emergency, enabling first responders to focus on those in urgent need. During those 72 hours, citizens should we well prepared to sustain themselves.
