Ok it’s not hockey but who doesn’t love Football?! Did you know there is Football in Mississauga available for ages 6-17?
The Mississauga Football League began in 1971 with tackle football in the fall. After 43 seasons the league now offers spring and fall tackle along with summer and fall flag football.
The MFL’s focuses on “developmental football”- what does that mean? It means that the player’s skill development comes first and everyone gets to play. There’s no experience needed and the equipment is even provided as part of the registration fee. At the end of the season the player keeps their jersey and gets a participation award.
We all want our kids to be active and keep them moving. Experts say in addition to healthy food choices kids need 60 mins of physical activity a day. Finding something they love to do makes that goal so much easier.

My son started football at 7 yrs old and I’m amazed at what being part of a team has done for him and his confidence. He knows he is an important part of his team and that he matters in the outcome of this game. When he hits the field he is part of something big and he will have an affect on the outcome.
Now they don’t’ always win and the losses can be hard but in life you need to experience the loss to make you hunger for the win.
As they say… LIFE BEGINS WHEN THE SEASON STARTS!
