Mississauga and Peel Region Curbside Battery Collection

Battery Recycling in Mississauga with Karen Ras

The Region of Peel is launching its curbside battery collection for collection of single-use household batteries. The date for collection in Ward 2 is Monday, March 21st.
 
This will prevent batteries from going to landfill. Soon residents will be receiving a battery collection bag with the following instructions:

Place your household batteries in the bag

  1. Seal the bag
  2. Place the bag on top of the closed lid of your organics cart

Examples of single use batteries: A, AA, AAA, C, D, 9 volt and button cell.
 
For any other batteries you wish to dispose of, please visit one of the Region of Peel’s six CRCs for free year-round drop-off. 
 
NOTE: There will also be a Fall household battery collection on November 14th.
